A Proficiency Certificate is normally issued by a golf club to allow a new golfer to play on regulation sized golf courses in order to gain sufficient experience and play the required number of rounds (normally 5 x 18 hole rounds or equivalent) prior to their Handicap Test (Courtesy Round). PCs normally have an expiry date as they confer temporary playing privileges and the golfer is expected to take the necessary steps to obtain a golf Handicap.
Holders of a my golf kaki Proficiency Certificate are allowed to play at Marina Bay Golf Course on weekdays without having to undergo a swing check test. They are also allowed to ballot for Golf Passes to play at Orchid Country Club on weekdays.
To obtain a my golf kaki Proficiency Certificate, the golfer MUST complete a Golf Workshop on the Rules of Golf and Golf Etiquette as well as a practical test at the driving rage. Proper golf attire is compulsory.
Proficiency Certificates issued by golf clubs who are also members of the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) are also recognized if evidence of attendance of a Golf Rules and Etiquette Workshop can be provided. Otherwise, the golfer is required to attend such a workshop with my golf kaki but is exempted from the practical test.
The applicant must pass both the theory and practical components of the test in order to qualify for a Proficiency Certificate.
Golfers may obtain the my golf kaki Proficiency Certificate at either:
1) my golf kaki Academy, Tanglin Golf Course
2) Star Golf Academy, Marina Bay Golf Course
