What Is a Proficiency Certificate (PC)?
A Proficiency Certificate (PC) is issued by a golf club to allow new golfers to play on regulation-sized golf courses before obtaining an official golf Handicap.
It provides temporary playing privileges so golfers can gain course experience and submit scores required to establish a Handicap.
Why Do I Need a Proficiency Certificate?
A Proficiency Certificate allows you to:
- Play on regulation golf courses
- Submit scorecards to work towards an official HandicapGain real on-course experience as a new golfer
To qualify for a Handicap, golfers must complete three 9-hole rounds or one 18-hole round. Once this is achieved, a Handicap Index will be reflected in the next computation cycle.
Please note that Proficiency Certificates have an expiry date, as golfers are expected to progress towards obtaining a Handicap.
